zBoth money and time are very valuable resources. The main difference between the two is that you cannot get back time, making time a much more important asset.
While there aren’t any shortcuts to long-term success, there are still ways you can quickly make a buck or two without having to spend too much of your precious time.
Here are some ways you can make money fast with just a little time:
Sell Something You Already Have
One way you can make money instantly is by selling your old stuff to your neighbors or to people you know nearby.
Is your closet filled with old clothes and old shoes? Perhaps you have video games, old sports equipment, old musical instruments you don’t need anymore? Have your shelves been cluttered with old books you will most probably no longer get back to?
Look around your room, look around your garage, check your entire house. Grab those old items that you have had for so long, just sitting collecting dust, and turn them instead to cash.
How does that old saying go? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Rent Things You Have Lying Around Your House
Now, if you have tools, equipment, appliances, and other items you don’t use daily but couldn’t find it in you to sell them, perhaps consider renting them out.
Using My Garage Rentals is one of the fastest ways to rent out your items. It is simple and easy to use. My Garage Rentals also provides a secure way to rent out your item since it requires a security deposit for every rental. Moreover, it ensures its users a $1000 guarantee for lost or broken items.
My Garage Rentals is a peer-to-peer rental platform that aims to keep you connected with your local community, make renting faster, and allows you to make money almost instantly.
Offer to do Chores for Price
You can make some instant cash in the comfort of your own home without having to go through job applications and interviews.
Just look around for any household chores you can do, then ask the people you’re living with for a fee for doing them. You can go so far as to do even your neighbor’s chores, with just a little convincing, they will surely agree.
For quick and easy money, doing household chores shouldn’t come as a challenge to you since you’ve been doing it most of your life, especially in your childhood.
Use Uber or Lyft
Nothing says, “make money fast with little time” like Uber or Lyft. It doesn’t take too long to set up an account, register your vehicle, and get passengers to pay you.
These apps may as well be one of the fastest ways to make a quick buck these days and all you have to do is drive.
What’s more, despite the pandemic, Uber and Lyft are still widely used. There are, of course, safety protocols that must be followed to ensure health measures; but, knowing these two corporate giants, security is assured.
So what are you waiting for? Buckle up and get going already!
If you have the patience, the skills, and the knowledge to teach someone in an area you excel at; whether that’s in Math, Science, playing musical instruments, or speaking a foreign language, that could be used to your advantage.
Take the opportunity of excelling at something in tutoring a student in your neighborhood to make money fast with the little time you have.
Use social media by messaging your neighborhood group pages and market your services to them there to get started quickly.
Wash or Repair Someone’s Car or Appliances
Are you knowledgeable about car parts and how they work? Do you know anyone like me who knows squat about them? Well then, another way you can make money instantly is to offer what you know as services to those car illiterates nearby.
Or maybe you’re more into electronics such as appliances like television or washing machines. You can save your neighbors the hassle of going to the repair shop and paying more than they should by offering your services to them.
Or if you’re anything like me who knows nothing about repairing electronics, you can offer to wash your neighbor’s and friend’s cars for a quick and easy fee.
Help Elders with their Phones
Let’s face it. Most elders aren’t simply good with their smartphones. It can be challenging for them and could oftentimes just send them into a spiral of confusion.
You can use what you know to update their smartphone’s firmware, install apps for them, set up accounts for their socials or emails, and if your knowledge is capable, even repair their phones for profit.
You don’t even have to limit yourself to the elderly; as long as the person is smartphone illiterate, you can apply what you know and generate some income from it.
Bake or Cook Something to Sell
Do you consider yourself a good cook or even a decent baker? Get your work out there and sell them to your friends and neighbors nearby!
Take advantage of every social media you’re on and market your masterpiece there to sell. Because of the pandemic, a lot of people have done this and have succeeded more in selling their goods online than when they tried otherwise.
The more social media accounts you have, the better your chances, that’s depending on how many followers you have of course. Include mouthwatering photos of your food and pastries to keep your followers curious and wanting more.
Setup a Video Game Tournament
This next way to make money fast with little time can be a lot of fun and competitive, and it’s to set up a video game tourney with a cash prize and everything.
As long as you have a video game console to use (more preferably the latest next-generation consoles), the willingness to organize a tournament with pot money, a scoring system, and a proper set of rules, you are more than ready to start.
It shouldn’t be at all too hard to find participants to join your tournament. Everyone loves a little video game competition. Posting on social media to promote your tournament will also help big time in getting people to be part of your tournament.
Baby Sit or Pet Sit
Ask around your neighborhood if they need any on-the-spot babysitting or pet sitting. Offer your services and get instant cash at the end of the day.
Like I’ve been mentioning over and over in this article, taking advantage of social media will come as a benefit in promoting your services, including your babysitting or pet sitting services.
If you’re an animal lover or good with kids, then this won’t even come off as work for you at all, go and give it a try. It might even be something you’ll enjoy.
Offer to Shave/Cut Family Member’s Hair
You could offer your family member or a neighbor a private haircut in their homes, convince them that it is easier than having to go all the way to town to get a haircut.
It shouldn’t be hard to learn how to shave or cut someone’s hair. All it takes is a quick research on YouTube to learn the basics.
It could post as a challenge to convince people to accept your services if you lack the experience; it’s their hair we’re talking about, after all. So, you may have to do some hard persuasion if you’re not too experienced yet with cutting hair, or instead, you may choose to start with your family members at home.
Set a Movie Night
Not everyone has the privilege to subscribe to live streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Disney+.
Hence, you can make money fast with little time by utilizing your subscription. Ask for donations from your friends or neighbors to “Netflix and Chill” with you.
You can also use the watch party feature of Facebook or screen share via Zoom to live stream movies with your friends and neighbors.
A short disclaimer: make sure you aren’t selling movies illegally in any way. We suggest you try this approach only once or twice, just enough to get the money you need. If done multiple times, it could lead to criminal charges due to piracy. We’re not promoting piracy. We are only suggesting that you ask for donations.
Livestream (Busking or Gaming)
Speaking of donations, another way to make money fast with little time is by live-streaming your video games or musical performances.
With the help of Facebook Gaming and Twitch, receiving donations for video game live streams is made simpler. And because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the same is now also true for street-performing or busking.
With the help of your colleagues, friends, and neighbors online, making money should be easy. Sending out invitations and sharing to social media will help tremendously bring traffic to your live stream.

Accumulating material possessions has always been an issue of the human heart since the beginning of time.
It has come to a point where we’ve accumulated too much stuff that we no longer know what to do with our things.
And then renting came into the picture. People found a way to make use of the many things they already have at home, with the benefit of earning and saving money in the process.
The first known rental happened in the 1930s when a truck seller rented his truck to a customer who only needed it for a day.
And thus, rental shops emerged and gradually spread around the globe and even evolved to the online rental shops we use today.
If your question is, “Why should I rent? Why don’t I just buy?” We’ve written down 20 reasons that might just convince you to rent.
Why Should I Rent?
1. It’s cheaper to rent than to buy something brand new.
2. And because it is cheaper, renting can help with financial deficiency. For example, if an individual could not afford to buy a house, they should consider renting.
3. Additionally, it gives you the opportunity to experience using expensive and luxurious products that may be difficult to afford.
4. Moreso, renting allows you to save money and can help with your budget planning. Thus, it is considered a frugal practice to rent.
5. When you need something only temporarily, like a tool, a car, a commercial space, and more, we recommend renting.
6. Renting will save you space around the house since the item isn’t yours and will be returned, you wouldn’t have to worry about where to pack it when it is not in use.
7. Less waste is dumped if you choose to rent. About 1,980,262,621 of waste and counting are being dumped worldwide this year.
8. Renting gives you the freedom to try out different hobbies before you truly pursue them. You can rent musical instruments, photography equipment, sports gear, and much more, most of which can be quite costly investments.
9. Maintenance and repairs are not going to be an issue.
10. You don’t have to worry about durability and lifespan either.
11. Renting out your own items will allow for extra income and keep your things from remaining idle at home.
12. It doesn’t just allow for extra income, it will also eventually pay you back and cross over the original value of the product, making it as if you got the item for free, to begin with.
13. Thanks to online rental shops, you can rent at the comfort of your own home and with just the tapping of buttons.
14. Online rental is a big contributor to the sharing economy, which is an important factor to keep in mind since almost everything revolves around the sharing economy these days.
15. If you’re looking to buy something brand new, you might want to review the item first, and renting that item can help you with that. Renting will assist you in deciding whether that particular product is worth purchasing at full price or not.
16. Renting provides you access to a wide collection of media such as books, comics, music, and movies. You can finally read the whole Harry Potter series or watch the whole Matrix trilogy without having to buy them at their standard price.
17. Did you know that renting dogs is a thing? By doing so, you can gauge whether owning one is really for you or if it’s companionship is just something you need occasionally.
18. Thanks to peer-to-peer rentals like Airbnb and VRBO, traveling out of town and finding accommodation elsewhere is made easier.
19. Renting promotes sharing.
20. 43 Million Americans rent, according to a study by Harvard.

Money never comes easily, especially for college students, or any kind of student for that matter.
Usually only living off of minimum wage salaries or off of parent’s allowance, it can be quite the challenge for the average student to budget and save.
Nothing screams economical more than renting. In contrast to buying, renting is most certainly the cheaper approach.
Whether you’re a college student or a parent of one, this list might just be for you. As you read on, we hope that you find something useful to take away from this article.
1. Laptop and Tablet
An obvious essential for every student; and yes, laptops and tablets can be rented.
If you already own a laptop and/or a tablet, renting may not come to you as something useful yet at the moment.
But when the time comes and your device unfortunately breaks down, you may want to consider renting, just until you get your old one repaired or have enough to spend on a new one.
Every student will eventually have to read and study a book, whether that’s for reference or just for something to enjoy and pass the time.
While books can be conveniently read digitally nowadays, there are still plentiful benefits to reading them the old-fashioned way.
For instance, there is no UV lighting to expose your eyes to radiation; and then there’s the satisfyingly smooth feel of the ivory paper texture and the crisp sound of every page flip.
3. Musical Instruments
Whether your course revolves around music or not, it’s always a good idea to have a personal musical instrument within arm’s reach.
Learning to play a musical instrument exercises the brain by creating new neural pathways to help improve brain growth, which can result in creativity and motivation for productivity.
Playing the guitar and other musical instruments can also help calm the mind, alleviating stress, and depression.
4. DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras
DSLR and Mirrorless cameras are expensive and don’t even get me started on lenses and the vast variety of camera accessories.
Owning a camera is a real investment, it’s not something you just throw your money at willy-nilly. You have to make an extensive thought first before pursuing photography or film.
While you’re still saving up for a camera of your own, perhaps consider renting first and observe whether or not this field certainly captures your passion.
5. Gym, Sports and Athletic Gear
The expenses that come with buying sports gear might discourage a lot of students, especially those looking to get fit and try out sports for the first time.
You shouldn’t let this hindrance stop you from getting in shape and staying healthy. You can always opt to rent sports equipment first until you can finally afford to invest in your own gear.
6. Live-stream Gear
We’re living in an age of streaming. We stream our movies, concerts, music, and our favorite shows; students even now have to attend their classes through live-streaming.
With the help of platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming, students can stream their creative content online with the potential of earning.
Full live-stream equipment can be costly overall, but with the help of renting, students can begin their live-streaming dreams much sooner than they think.
7. Video Game Console
We can argue all we want on whether or not video games are a bad influence on the youth, but it won’t dismiss the fact that a ton of research shows there are great benefits in gaming.
Other than some of the mental and emotional benefits of playing video games, students can also profit from it by pursuing a career in E-sports and video game live-streaming.
8. Portable Fridge, AC, Microwave, Vacuum, and Other Appliances
Some dorms and apartments may already provide appliances like microwaves and refrigerators, but this is not true for others, those that don’t may encourage you to rent appliances.
If you’re one of those, already provided with these appliances, you may resort to renting when the time comes that these machines suddenly give in and break.
When this unfortunate event does occur, do not go and buy one brand-new right away. Having it sent to the repairman and renting one as you wait for it can help you save more.
Decorating is a great way for students to express their creativity in their own respective dorm rooms. Tell me, when was the last time you saw a dorm room without any decorations on it?
The only hassle in constantly decorating is that it’ll cost you, especially when there’s another holiday coming up in the succeeding month, or if you suddenly needed a new backdrop for a vlog you were recording.
Thankfully, there are websites like My Garage Rentals that offer neighbor to neighbor rentals, making it easy and affordable to switch from one holiday decoration to another.
10. Bike or Car for Transportation
Just because your friends have cars doesn’t mean you should go and spend all your savings on one in one fell swoop.
You have to consider your priorities first and if buying a car isn’t on the top of your list, you might want to re-think getting one right away.
Fortunately, you can still enjoy good and comfortable transportation without having to compromise your savings, and yes, that’s by renting.
My Garage Rentals is an online platform that offers neighbor to neighbor rentals, allowing its users to connect with a community of lenders within their local area, making finding the perfect item to rent easy.
Unlike the rest of the rental platforms mentioned in this article, My Garage Rentals offers its users the ability to rent almost anything, boasting not just one specific category but a wide variety to rent from.
You can also earn and start your own rental service with us by enlisting your items up for rent. You control the duration and the amount of security deposit, owners are eligible for a $1000 guarantee for damaged items, and sign up is absolutely free!
Start looking around for things that are just lying around your room wasting precious space and start earning from them!
You read that title right! And before you go and accuse this blog of being a scam, give it a chance and read on through. You will not regret this informative 3-minute read.
First off, a slight disclaimer, not all items or tools may prove effective with the use of this method. But later in the article, we’ll be giving you examples of tools that will actively work in applying what you’ll learn.
So, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.
Everybody wants free stuff. But free things are hard to come by these days. While a majority of the world believes in the saying, “nothing in life comes free,” we, on the other hand, beg to differ.
There is indeed a way to get free stuff, and additionally, you can even earn from them over time and still call them your own.
Although this article will focus on one specific kind of tool, you can still take advantage of these steps with other items as well, so read on.
What tools are you buying?
The first thing to do is to determine what kind of tool you’re buying, whether it’s a hand tool or a power tool.
Strategically, you’d buy a tool you know to be useful for something you are working on now and for future projects.
Another thing you’d ideally have to give some thought on is whether the item will be something another person would use occasionally.
There are various kinds of tools homeowners occasionally use but aren’t willing to purchase due to their price, and the usage infrequency relative to that cost.
Think of carpet cleaners for instance. Everybody wants nothing more than to have their carpets cleaned on a regular basis, but most people don’t purchase the cleaner because they only use it once a year.
It’s also good to note that the heavier-duty the item, the better. Let’s take for instance a gas chainsaw; it’s heavy-duty and something a person would need on certain occasions and it’s probably something that most homeowners are not going to want to purchase, again due to the cost relative to the infrequency of use.
Find the best and closest hardware store or visit their website.
The next obvious step is to visit the hardware store of your choice. We would suggest you choose the closest one, just to be on the safe and convenient side.
And if you’re uncomfortable going out in public, for safety and health reasons, you can always opt to visit your favorite hardware store’s website. The best hardware stores often have an official e-commerce website where you can order their products online.
We suggest these well-known hardware stores; Lowe’s, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Do it Best, all of which have websites and offer ship-to-home delivery services.
For this method to work effectively, we suggest that you refrain from choosing to buy from hardware stores that vend cheap and less durable products, i.e., Harbor Freight.
Like we mentioned above, you need to consider purchasing more durable products; that way, you’re able to take advantage of the tools much longer and earn more from it over time.
So again, consider the quality of the tool you will be getting. Suggestively, you would purchase an item that costs more on the lines of $200 and above. These are usually much longer-lasting than others.
For the sake of this article, we’re going to use the gas chainsaw as an example.
We can look at this Husqvarna 455 Rancher 20-in 55.5-cc 2-Cycle Gas Chainsaw for instance, which costs $475.99, found at Lowe’s official website.
And before you go complain and say, “I thought you said this was how to get free tools? Why are you telling me to buy then?” Well, we’ll get to that in the following paragraphs.
Put your item up for rent.
Now that you have a new gas chainsaw, the money-making part is putting it up for rent online.
My Garage Rentals is a great peer-to-peer rental platform you can use to put any of your personal belongings up for rent, whether it’s used or brand new.
Registration is easy, and listing your item up for rent is just as simple.
My Garage Rentals allows its users full control over the item’s rental duration; this can come in handy for when you need your tools back during a specific time.
You aren’t only in full control over how much your item will be priced per day, but you also get to choose how much the security deposit will be.
Utilize your item.
And now that you have your chainsaw listed on My Garage Rentals for rent, all that’s left to do is to wait and hope for a customer nibble.
The waiting part is when you use your chainsaw for whatever it is you need it for, and when someone requests it on My Garage Rentals, that’s when you have it prepared for rental and ready to go.
Other types of items.
The best part about this is that it doesn’t have to just be power tools or DIY equipment.
My Garage Rentals caters to any type of item that falls under any type of category, be it a camera, professional audio, sports gear, camping equipment, you name it.
Just make sure that it is something a renter will find useful, or else you may end up unlucky in finding customers.
So, if you’ve been hesitating on buying that heavy-duty tool that you’ve been eyeing for so long, terrified by what was written on the price tag, fret no more!
If you have the money now, I say, “just get it!”
Hardware stores often take tools that cost around $400 in retail and have them rented for $60/day. If you followed this same model on My Garage Rentals, with some patience, you could pay for that tool after renting it out 7 times. Then it will just be pocket money from thereon.Read More
Number 9 is going to shock you!
We’ve entered into an era where the global economy is standing on a thin foundation, swaying back and forth. Not a single soul knows when all of this will end; if we take a look at the previous SARS pandemic, we see that a pandemic can last for more than a year.
Until then, we ought to keep in mind that we may be facing this economic crisis for a little while longer than we think; therefore, we should consider cutting down on unnecessary expenses to save more money in preparing us for this long uncertainty.
Renting instead of buying stuff is a great way to save especially since most of what we buy ends up collecting dust in our garages anyway. Here are 11 things to consider renting over buying. Oh and watch out for number 9, you will surely be surprised!
A growing number of users have gone to My Garage Rentals to rent out tools for their home projects.
Gardening and DIY tools are on the top of our list of things you can rent out instead of buying brand new. Have you ever had a project at home where you ended up needing a certain type of tool, later realizing that you only really need it for that one time?
It wouldn’t just be a waste of your money, it would also be a waste of space around your home. The good news is, you don’t have to buy your tools brand new. My Garage Rentals offers peer-to-peer rental services, allowing you to borrow and lend out DIY and gardening tools you think won’t be needed for more than once.
2. Home and Spaces
You can rent an office space for your emergency conference meetings over at Liquidspace.
You might be planning to move to a new town but aren’t exactly particularly sure yet whether you will stay or not, we suggest that you rent a place first before buying just to see if that town suits you.
Websites like Airbnb, VRBO, and Home Away allow you to take advantage of services like this. Their system gives you the ease of mind knowing that the place you’re renting is secured and owned by good quality folks.
Homes aren’t the only spaces you can rent. Some of us might even need just a small portion of space, maybe for a conference meeting; rent out an office space, or a photoshoot studio with LiquidSpace. Can’t find a place to park? Why not rent a parking space with Just Park.
3. Photography Equipment
Lens Rentals exist for the main purpose of supporting photographers financially, especially beginners.
Entering into photography can be expensive, especially for students with a limited budget. Buying a brand-new camera body alone will cost you about $700, depending on the model and brand; on the other hand, a separate camera lens will cost you about the same price, depending as well on the brand and type of lens you choose.
I haven’t even included yet the rest of the basic gear like a tripod, reflector, flash, stabilizer, and so on. These will cost you a fortune should you choose to buy them brand new.
Fortunately, you don’t have to buy brand new equipment to start your way up to the photography business. Peer-to-peer platforms for camera gear do exist such as Borrow Lenses and Lens Rentals. My Garage Rentals also allows you to rent camera gear of all kinds.
Rent a book instead of buying one. Take to Book Renter for all your book rental needs.
Let’s be honest, the majority of people after they’ve done reading their books, most likely end up stacking them on top of their shelves, never again to be read; or dump them in the trash, to be later destroyed forever.
A research study on textbook recycling in America by the National Wildlife Federation shows that about 320 million books are sent to the landfill each year; that’s a pretty large sum to be wasted.
But there is a silver lining to this situation; websites like My Garage Rentals, Campus Books, and Book Renter are some of the many platforms that allow you to rent out a book instead of buying one brand new. You can also post your old books up for rent to earn a little extra income.
5. Professional Audio
Professional Audio can be a really expensive investment, but we can always rent through rentals like Capital Audio Rental.
Another thing to consider renting instead of buying is professional audio equipment. Trust me when I say that professional audio gear is tremendously expensive to own. I used to work at a music store that sold professional audio and the cheapest but least recommended speaker you could find will cost you about $800 and that’s just the left speaker.
There are a bunch of trustworthy audio rental services out there including Capital Audio Rental, Hollywood Sound, and soon enough My Garage Rentals. If you’re already a proud owner of a professional audio set, you can even start-up your audio rental by utilizing My Garage Rentals‘ peer-to-peer services which allows you to post your gear online for rent.
6. Sports and Outdoor Gear
Benefit from renting sports and camping gear instead of buying costly equipment.
Sports and other outdoor gear can be pretty pricey. The Pinarello Gan Disk 105 Road Bike, for example, will cost you $2,850; instead, you can rent a Leader 721 Road Bike over at My Garage Rentals for only $30 a day, which will surely save you a ton of money if you will only be using it for a couple of days.
Camping can get pretty expensive too since you will be needing a full set of gear before you’re well-prepared for the woods. Fortunately, there are shops like REI that allow you to rent camping gear such as camping bags, tents, shoes, and other camping and outdoor needs.
Let’s not forget the ride you and your family will be using to get to said camping destination; RVshare connects you with local RV owners who are willing to lend you their RV’s for your long trips, so you wouldn’t have to buy one brand new.
My Garage Rentals also offers rental for both camping gear and other outdoor and sports equipment.
You don’t have to live luxuriously in-order to use a yacht, you can rent one and save yourself from throwing away your money.
This saves you a lot of those expenses that come with buying a brand-new boat. Let’s be real here, do you really need a boat of your own?
Everybody knows that cars are expensive. Luckily there are multiple car rental services across the states and across the web.
The earth can truly benefit from you the moment you decide to rent a car rather than buy one brand-new. Don’t get me wrong, it’s convenient to own a car of your own.
If you live in a high-density city like New York or you’re just heading out of town for a two-day retreat or vacation, it’ll benefit your wallet more if you rent a car instead. Not only do you lessen your carbon footprint, but you also save a ton of money altogether.
Dogs are great companions, we could all use a companion when things get a little too lonely or stressful.
Bet you didn’t think it was possible, did you? Indeed, you can rent your very own canine. This can prove to be beneficial for those who need a furry companion just to get through the blues.
Another reason one would exploit these services would be to treat it as a trial to dog-owning, to see whether or not they can handle owning a dog. Whatever the reason may be, it’s a great way to save yourself from spending big bucks for a canine companion you probably wouldn’t need for more than a couple of days or so.
You can check out Borrow My Doggy if you’re interested.
Fortunately, in this day and age, we can stream and rent our entertainment online.
Gone are the days of Blockbuster where you rent out movies, music, and video games physically. Because of the advancement of the internet, services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Roku have proven to be the much more dominant alternative to renting movies.
The best part is, you wouldn’t even have to leave your home to take advantage of their services, just register your method of payment and you can watch a movie with just a push of a button or two.
But if it’s music you want, I’m sure you’ve heard of Spotify, I mean, who hasn’t? Video games are no exemption to renting too, all thanks to GameFly we can now rent video games online for however long we wish to use it.
Rent a dress or a coat for that upcoming special occasion of yours, it’ll save you a ton of money as compared to buying.
Ever thought of renting out a dress or a coat for that upcoming prestigious double date with the boss and his wife? Or maybe for your son or your daughter’s senior prom?
Dress for Less, Rent the Runway, and The Black Tux makes it possible to rent out dresses and coats. You can now wear that Elizabeth & James dress you’ve always dreamed of without having to spend your entire savings!
If you’re looking for something for the little ones, look no further than Borrowed Boutique, a clothing rental steered towards kids.
Finally, you can rent almost anything. My Garage Rentals is a peer-to-peer rentals website that allows you to rent out almost anything, from power tools like an electric drill or an orbital saw to home appliances like a washing machine or an air conditioner.
Did I forget to mention you could rent out your items as well and make a few extra bucks while you’re at it?
The internet has privileged us with many convenient ways to buy and shop; but more importantly, it has also given us convenient ways to rent and sell almost whatever we want, and to choose the latter and save more money is completely up to us. You choose, would you still rather buy than rent?
Spring is just around the corner. Do you know what that means? It’s time for Spring Cleaning!! Getting that house in order and sparkling clean. It will feel amazing when that house is so clean you feel like you could eat off the floor. It takes a lot of time, but it will be worth it. We are all happy once it is done!
So this week our idea is for the pressure washer. This tool is one that will allow you to do some of the cleaning outside the house faster and better than you would be able to do with just a rag and water! It is always an amazing feeling to see the grim come off that driveway. Or see the fungus and moss growing on the roof come off. There are countless uses for that tool.
Who really wants to store a pressure washer all year though for the one or two times you may use it. Not many people want this. It takes up space and when you go to use it you just pray that the cobwebs will come off and the thing will fire up. That is why only a handful of people own them. So why not rent it from your neighbor down the street who uses his all the time? Or the one who rents his out on My Garage Rentals? Unless you are doing a big project you probably only need it for the day. So do it! It could potentially save you hours of time! And using your neighbors helps them out too! It allows them to earn a little cash. Talk about good neighbor relations!
If you are one of those who does have a pressure washer sitting in your garage or on the side of your house, let it make you some money. It doesn’t cost you anything. Home Depot currently rents an electric pressure washer out for $40 / day or $160 / week. While it is a small percentage of the population that plays the harp, interestingly it is the #10 most popular instrument in the United States. It is not surprising that it falls behind the piano, guitar, violin, and drums, but it is still a beloved instrument by many.
Whether you are just starting the process of learning the harp or are an accomplished harpist who needs a concert grand pedal harp, renting one is a great way to be able to use one without having the make a huge investment. Purchasing one can easily cost thousands on dollars, if not tens of thousands. Renting one on the other hand will save you majorly costing $30 to $150 a month.
If you are one of the few individuals who owns a harp, and you no longer play it on a regular basis, why not lend it out to someone else who has the desire to learn how to play it. Not only is it not taking up space in your house, but it also allows you to meet someone else interested in the same thing you are. It allows you to share the joy that you have while playing the beautiful instrument. That is one of our purposes at My Garage Rentals. We want to help build this community.
Go out, share, learn, experience, live.Read More
We all have those times where we wish we could haul just a little bit more. Whether we are moving, making a big purchase, doing some major yard work, or renting a large piece of equipment there are always those times that come up where a utility trailer would come in handy to save time and effort. It can save you from having to make several trips. Or it can allow you to fit something that you previously could not.
But a utility trailer takes up a lot of space. So if you are not going to use it often who really wants to keep it in their driveway or on the side of their house. If you live in an apartment or condo then there is no way you could store it there. Even if you were to need it on a regular basis you would have to pay to store it somewhere else.
So for those of you who have a utility trailer sitting around try putting it up on MyGarageRentals.com. We would suggest for you to think about what size cars, trucks, and SUVs would be able to use your trailer. There is a good chance the person renting it had never thought of this and they will be grateful that you did. They wouldn’t be very happy if they got down the road and they couldn’t tow it because the weight was just too much.Read More
Maybe we at My Garage Rentals are going a little bit over the top with the bounce house idea, but we are getting excited about the possibilities! Picture this:
You want to have a simple side business you can work on Saturdays and Sundays in order to make an extra few hundred bucks on the weekends. So you spend $2,500 to purchase one or two bounce houses. (The price would depend on the size, shape, and if it is themed after a movie or something popular) You set aside a little space on a shelf in your garage to store them during the week. You set them up for your kids birthday party or just so your kids can bring over some friends and play and they love it. During the party you take pictures. That night you posts those pictures on My Garage Rentals.
We do the advertising for you. Other people in the nearby area see that you have a bounce house for rent. They rent it from you on the weekends. You go and set it up in the morning and take it down in the afternoon or evening at one or two locations. You are now making a few hundred extra bucks each weekend. The bounce houses pay themselves off and now you are making the money.
Simple as that. Small investment and you get money in your pocket.Read More
Last week was a major freeze that went through a good portion of the country. Negative double digits for much of the Northeast part of the country. But for many of you who do not live in that part of the country wasn’t nearly that bad. And in fact the weather may be very nice. The snowbirds in Arizona were enjoying temperatures in the 70’s. They were out playing golf while much of the country was hunkering down hoping their heat doesn’t go out.
Speaking of golf… We heard the other day that much of a golf courses revenue comes from their golf carts. And if you think about it, it is true that when you go golfing you spend a lot of extra money on that cart so you don’t end up having to walk the whole course. You could easily spend an extra $15 to $50 just to borrow a tiny car to take you from one hole to the next. At the end of the game, you give it back and get in your normal sized car to drive home. On the higher end of the rental spectrum isn’t too far from what it would cost to rent a car for an entire day! And you are using it in a controlled area for a few hours!
Now we are not suggesting that everyone should go out and buy a golf cart. Even if you go golfing on a regular basis. That is not what My Garage Rentals does. Golf carts would take up a ton of space and would not be easy to transport to the course. But for people who live around golf courses, this may be an idea! Not for yourself, but for others. (And you could use it on occasion when you want to, too.) This is what My Garage Rentals does. We want you, who already have one, to rent it to others!
Think about it. If you own one (or two) you could get an extra hundred bucks a day from it. This would obviously depend on where you live and what course is around you. This would be from something you may already own. All you have to do is give someone the keys and let them use it for a few hours. Golf courses are a fairly subdued area for driving. There isn’t too much traffic. It is not like they are out driving on the city streets or the highway.
For those of you who enjoy the game of golf, but you are on a budget, every penny counts. This would afford you the opportunity to save $10, $20, or maybe even $30 on a single game. That adds up quick if you enjoy the game and play on a regular basis.
Give it a try! Let us know how it works! We want to hear.Read More
